Man United rival Arsenal for promising 21-year-old Bundesliga star – report

Manchester United are heading Premier League interest in Hoffenheim starlet Nadiem Amiri, according to reports in England.

The Sun is reporting that Manchester United are interested in the 21-year-old, who is valued at around £20m following his impressive performances in the Bundesliga.

The same article states that their title rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also tracking Hoffenheim’s Germany Under-21 international ahead of the January transfer window.

According to the same story, Jose Mourinho could sign Amiri to improve his midfield options given the uncertainty surrounding former Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Old Trafford.

Hoffenheim starlet Amiri impressed during Germany’s European Under-21 championship campaign before the attacking midfielder carried his form into the Bundesliga.

The German prospect has scored four goals and has made two assists in 18 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

The 5ft 11ins playmaker made his Bundesliga debut in 2015 in a 3-0 loss to Wolfsburg in the German top flight.

Amiri has netted three goals in 15 appearances for the Germany Under-21 national team.

Manchester United signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the 2017 summer transfer window.

The Red Devils lost 2-1 to Premier League leaders Manchester City in the derby last weekend.
