Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to ease to successive Premier League victories over Brighton at Wembley on Wednesday night.
Spurs ended a four-game winless run last weekend thanks to a resounding 5-1 victory over Stoke City at the home of English football.
Harry Kane scored twice to end his mini goal drought and help the north London side to two points of fourth-placed Liverpool FC.
Tottenham lost to Arsenal and Leicester City in November and dropped points in stalemates with West Brom and Watford.
Spurs have fallen out of contention in the title race despite initially being talked up as Manchester City’s challengers.
The Lilywhites will be hoping to qualify for Europe’s Premier club competition for the third successive season under Mauricio Pochettino.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson is backing Tottenham to secure back-to-back victories in the Premier League with a 2-0 win against promoted side Brighton and Hove Albion.
“Tottenham put on a White Hart Lane performance at Wembley when they beat Stoke 5-1 on Saturday,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“They created so many chances which is something they have not done at home very often this season, other than their 4-1 win over Liverpool in October.
“Brighton will look to tighten up after their defeat at Huddersfield at the weekend, and they will have to be much better than they were in that game.
“But I still only see one outcome for Seagulls boss Chris Hughton against the club he played at and coached at for years.”
Tottenham finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and ended up seven points behind eventual champions Chelsea.
Spurs have never won the Premier League title but have been steadily improving under Pochettino following third place and second place finishes over the last two seasons.
