Eric Bailly has revealed that his main target for the rest of the season for Manchester United is staying clear of injury.
The Ivory Coast international has been settling into life at Old Trafford after arriving at the club last summer as one of Jose Mourinho’s first signings.
The 23-year-old will be hoping to stay fit as Manchester United bid to try and make it through the hectic festive period in the Premier League as one of the main contenders for the title.
And Bailly has revealed how his main target for the Red Devils is to stay fit during what could be an absolutely crucial time for Mourinho’s men.
Speaking to MUTV ahead of Saturday’s game with Newcastle, Bailly said: “Of course, it’s very important for me.
“What’s also important is being able to steer clear of injury, because I really love going into those periods when there are loads of games.
“It makes you feel like you are really in the thick of the English game and emotions run high at these times.
“So, I hope things go well and we can pick up as many points as possible before we get to the end of December.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Wednesday night with a trip to Switzerland to take on Basel.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League last season but also won the Europa League and League Cup under Mourinho during his first campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
