Antonio Conte names three Chelsea stars who impressed against Everton

Antonio Conte heaped praise on Charly Musonda, Kenedy and Ethan Ampadu after the three youngsters helped Chelsea claim a 2-1 victory over Everton in the League Cup fourth round on Wednesday night.

The trio all featured from the start against the Toffees as Conte’s men booked their place in the quarter-finals of the competition with a battling victory.

Goals from Antonio Rudiger and Willian secured the win for the west London club as they sealed their progress to the last eight.

The game gave Conte a chance to give some of his younger players to shine, and the Chelsea manager was particularly impressed by Musonda, Kenedy and Ampadu.

Speaking at his post-match news conference, Conte said: “I saw a lot of positive things, especially the young players.

“Charley Musonda, Kenedy and Ethan Ampadu played a good game.

“They deserve a chance and I am very happy because they gave me the answer I wanted.”

Chelsea now switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their trip to Bournemouth on Saturday night.

The Blues head into the game looking to make it back to back wins in the top flight after their impressive 4-2 comeback victory over Watford last weekend.

Chelsea are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City after nine games of the new campaign.

The Blues have won the Premier League title in two of the last three seasons.
