Ander Herrera has revealed that he and his Manchester United team-mates fully “trust” Marcus Rashford on the pitch for the Red Devils.
The 19-year-old attacker has held down a regular spot in the first team at Old Trafford this season and has been in top form for Jose Mourinho’s men.
Rashford scored the only goal of the game as Manchester United secured a 1-0 victory over Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night to continue their 100 per cent start to the new season in Europe.
The teenager has earned plenty of new admirers since breaking into the first team at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal two seasons ago.
And Herrera has revealed that he and his Manchester United team-mates fully trust the teenager when he’s on the pitch with them.
Speaking to MUTV after Wednesday’s win, Herrera said: “Marcus has a great shot, we know that.
“It was important in this match because he made it very difficult for the keeper. He had to run back to the goal, that’s why the ball went inside [the line].
“We trust in Marcus a lot because he has a fantastic shot.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Huddersfield Town.
Mourinho’s men are currently second in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Manchester City after their goalless draw at Anfield last weekend.
The Red Devils are aiming to win the Premier League for the first time since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
