Jamie Redknapp states his ‘big’ prediction for Tottenham v Liverpool

Jamie Redknapp believes Liverpool are facing a huge game in the context of their Premier League season at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will look to record their first Premier League win at White Hart Lane this weekend since a 3-2 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium back in September.

Liverpool drew 1-1 with Newcastle United before the international break after Philippe Coutinho’s wonder strike was cancelled out by Joselu’s scrappy goal at St James’ Park.

The Reds were the better side in the north-west derby but Jose Mourinho’s conservative tactics helped to thwart the Liverpool attack in a goalless draw at Anfield with some help from David De Gea.

However, Liverpool were emphatic 7-0 winners against Slovenian side Maribor in the Champions League on Tuesday night to open the floodgates ahead of Sunday’s trip to north London.

Tottenham are in third place in the Premier League table and haven’t lost a game since a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea at Wembley back in August.

Former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder Redknapp underlined the importance of Sunday’s Premier League clash for the Merseyside outfit.

“Liverpool needed that result,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

“It’s been a barren run. It’s a big result. The big game is against Tottenham. That’s where they’ve got to start to improve their league form.”

Liverpool drew 1-1 with Tottenham at White Hart Lane last term before a 2-0 win against Spurs at Anfield back in February.
