Ian Wright sends warning to Tottenham about Liverpool FC

Ian Wright believes Liverpool will be feeling confident ahead of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend after their Champions League rout.

The Reds were resounding 7-0 winners against Slovenian side Maribor in the Champions League on Tuesday night to register their first Champions League win.

Liverpool ended a two-game winless run with their biggest-ever win on the road in Europe to help the Reds hoist themselves to the top of their group ahead of Spartak Moscow and Sevilla.

The Merseyside outfit have struggled in front of goal ahead of their trip to Slovenia following two goals in three games against Spartak Moscow, Newcastle United and Manchester United.

However, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah all got on the score sheet to boost their morale ahead of this weekend’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs battled to a 1-1 draw with Champions League holders Real Madrid at The Bernabeu in their European fixture on Tuesday night.

Former Arsenal striker Wright warned that Liverpool will be full of confidence heading to White Hart Lane following their Champions League exploits.

“That performance and result will give Liverpool the bit of confidence they need,” Wright told Sky Sports.

“Liverpool and their manager have been under a bit of pressure. That kind of result will be a good boost for them right now.”

Liverpool drew 1-1 with Tottenham in their Premier League meeting at White Hart Lane last August before a 2-0 victory over Spurs at Anfield back in February.
