Eden Hazard sends clear transfer message to Chelsea chiefs

Eden Hazard has insisted that is “waiting” to sign a new contract at Chelsea and has nothing to report as of yet.

The Belgian playmaker has established himself as one of the Premier League’s finest attacking talents since his arrival at Stamford Bridge from Ligue 1 side Lille back in the summer of 2012.

Hazard helped to fire Chelsea to their second Premier League title in three seasons last term as the Blues lifted the top-flight trophy in Antonio Conte’s first campaign at the club.

The 26-year-old has regularly been touted as a possible target for Real Madrid in recent years but the attacker appears to be fully committed at Chelsea.

Now, Hazard has hinted that he is ready to sign a new deal with the Premier League champions, but revealed that he has not yet held discussions about it.

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday while on international duty with Belgium, Hazard said: “At the moment there’s nothing. I’m waiting.”

Hazard will be hoping to make his return from an ankle injury for Chelsea as soon as possible.

The Belgian playmaker has not featured for the west London club so far this season after undergoing surgery at the start of the summer.

Chelsea beat Everton 2-0 in Hazard’s absence on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
