Stewart Robson has ruled out the possibility of Arsenal selling Alexis Sanchez to Chelsea this summer.
The Premier League Champions agreed a deal to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata to bolster their attack on Wednesday after missing out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United earlier this month.
However, with Diego Costa free to leave the west London side this summer, Chelsea continue to be linked with more recruits ahead of a return to the Champions League.
Across London, Arsenal are facing a battle to keep hold of their talisman Sanchez after failing to agree terms to a new contract extension.
Sanchez has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal which has prompted talk of an unthinkable move to one of Arsenal’s title rivals.
Manchester City are thought to be leading the race to sign the 28-year-old but Premier League champions Chelsea have been touted as another potential destination.
Speaking to ESPN FC on Wednesday about Sanchez potentially completing a controversial switch to Chelsea this summer, former Arsenal striker Robson said:
“I don’t think Alexis Sanchez will go to Chelsea. I don’t think Arsenal would let him go there.”
Sanchez moved to Arsenal in a £35m deal from La Liga giants Barcelona in the 2014 summer transfer window.
