Manchester United are considering a move to sign Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Guardian is reporting that the Red Devils are ready to make a swoop to sign the teenager as Jose Mourinho continues his search for a defensive midfielder this summer.

It is claimed that Manchester United have earmarked Sanches as a possible target this summer as Mourinho looks to further bolster his squad ahead of the arrivals of both defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku.

The same report claims that Bayern Munich have made Sanches available for a fee of around £40m this summer and that could tempt Manchester United into a swoop.

The story also says that the Red Devils have so far failed in their attempts to sign midfielder Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as the Red Devils prepare for their second season under Mourinho.

The Red Devils are also gearing up for a return to the Champions League next season after their Europa League triumph last term.
