Man United ready to make bid to sign 29-year-old Belgian – report

Manchester United are ready to make a bid to sign Radja Nainggolan from Roma, according to reports in Italy.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that the Red Devils are keen on signing the Belgium international as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield options ahead of his second season in charge at Old Trafford.

The same article claims that Manchester United would be willing to pay between £35.3m and £39.7m for the midfielder, who has also been linked with Chelsea in the past.

Nainggolan’s current contract in Rome is set to expire in 2020.

A move for Nainggolan would appear to make sense for Manchester United, with Mourinho thought to be keen to find a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick to parter Paul Pogba in the Red Devils’ midfield.

Manchester United have been linked with a number of players in Nainggolan’s position this summer, including Nemanja Matic of Chelsea and Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier.

The Red Devils have so far only signed one player this summer after wrapping up a deal to land defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica earlier this month.
