Arsenal are planning to launch a second attempt to sign Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe and will use Olivier Giroud as a makeweight in the deal, according to reports in the English media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Arsenal are prepared to part company with the France striker to bolster their chances of signing Mbappe or Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazzette this summer.
The same article states that Arsenal rubbished reports suggesting that a £87m offer was made for Mbappe earlier this month, but the Evening Standard claims that a second bid is on the table.
According to the report, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that his ties with French football and specifically Monaco will give the north London side the edge in the race to sign Mbappe.
The teenager scored 15 times in 29 games in the 2016-17 season to help Monaco beat Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title.
The Monaco sensation netted six times in nine games in the Champions League games.
Mbappe would have to settle for at least one season without Champions League football should he join Arsenal, however, after the Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League last term.
