Eden Hazard sends message to Chelsea fans about Diego Costa

Eden Hazard has suggested that he does not want Diego Costa to leave Chelsea this summer by talking up his partnership with the striker.

The Spanish forward’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent days after Antonio Conte allegedly informed the striker that he was no longer part of his plans.

It remains to be seen whether Costa will leave Stamford Bridge this summer or remain at Chelsea to help the Blues try and defend their Premier League title.

Despite all of the controversy surrounding the striker, Costa still proved himself as a key player for Chelsea last season.

The striker scored 20 goals and made seven assists in the Premier League to help the Blues win the title.

Hazard has been enjoying a freer role in Chelsea’s new formation under Conte and the Belgian has talked up his partnership with Costa.

Speaking to Chelsea magazine, Hazard said: “I know if I score I can help the team win games and in the new system I’ve been closer to Diego, and closer to the goal, so it’s been easier to penetrate, make assists and score goals.”

Hazard is currently sidelined with an ankle injury sustained in training with Belgium, with the 26-year-old expected to miss the start of next season after undergoing surgery.
