Arsenal are willing to pay £85m to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail are reporting that the north London club would be willing to pay the huge transfer fee required to land the 18-year-old striker this summer.
However, the same story states that the Gunners are likely to be frustrated in their pursuit of Mbappe, because they face competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United.
Should Arsenal spend £85m on Mbappe, that would make him the north London club’s most expensive signing by far, with the proposed fee being more than double the reported £42.5m paid to Real Madrid from Mesut Ozil in 2013.
The same story claims that Arsenal will try to tempt Mbappe to The Emirates with regular first-team football from the off.
