Sol Campbell believes that Arsenal need a player like N’Golo Kante and feels that Arsenal would be challenging for the title had they signed the midfielder ahead of Chelsea last summer.
The French midfielder has earned plenty of praise for his sparkling performances for the west London club this season after arriving at Stamford Bridge from Leicester City last year.
Kante has been ever-present in the Chelsea team this season and has helped Antonio Conte’s men establish themselves as the heavy favourites to win the title this season.
His performances have not gone unnoticed by his peers, with Kante having been voted as the PFA player of the year.
The 26-year-old was linked with a move to Arsenal last summer before he ended up signing for Chelsea.
And Campbell admits that he wishes Kante had moved to The Emirates last summer after having helped Leicester win the Premier League title.
Kante told BetStars: “Kante could have gone to Arsenal last summer, but agent fees prevented a move.
“I think if he had [signed], they would be further up the league table. They need that type of player. His danger awareness is second to none.”
