Matt Le Tissier has heaped praise on Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Premier League leaders are four points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur with seven games to go thanks in part to the excellent performances of Kante and Hazard.
The Chelsea forward has scored 14 goals and has made five assists in 29 appearances in the Premier League, while Kante has bolstered their midfield under Antonio Conte.
France international Kante moved to Chelsea in a £30m deal from Premier League champions Leicester City last summer.
The defensive midfielder is on course to win the title in successive seasons with different clubs as Chelsea look to restore their seven-point lead on Sunday afternoon.
Former Southampton midfielder Le Tissier explained why Hazard and Kante would be the first names on his team sheet if he was selecting a Manchester United-Chelsea composite XI.
“Behind my striker there’s no doubt that Eden Hazard is in there,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports.
“N’Golo Kante and Hazard are the first names on the sheet and I’m sure they’ll battle it our for all of the individual awards. Kante will probably get most people’s votes but personally I like to see the top awards go to the creative players scoring the important goals.”
