Gary Lineker expressed his surprise that West Brom conceded from a free-kick after Roberto Firmino scored Liverpool’s winner in a 1-0 victory at The Hawthorns.
The Brazil international scored in successive Premier League games to seal three points for the Merseyside outfit in their bid to secure a top-four finish.
Firmino managed to get on the end of Lucas Leiva’s flick-on from a Liverpool set-piece before the forward placed his header past West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster.
West Brom have a reputation for being one of the Premier League’s most-proficient teams from set-pieces but Tony Pulis’ men came unstuck on Sunday afternoon.
Former Tottenham striker and Match Of The Day host Lineker saw the irony in West Brom conceding from a set-piece in added time at the end of the first half.
Lineker wrote on his Twitter page: “If only West Brom were better at set-pieces.”
