Ray Parlour admits that it is looking increasingly unlikely that Arsenal will finish in the top four this season in the Premier League.
The Gunners suffered another blow to their Champions League qualification ambitions last week when they were beaten 3-0 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
That result heaped fresh pressure on under-fire manager Arsene Wenger, whose side were sixth in the table heading into this weekend’s round of games.
Arsenal must now look to get their season back on track when they take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Monday night.
But former Gunners midfielder Parlour admits that the north London side are facing a serious uphill battle in securing a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Parlour told the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast: “It is looking very difficult now to get in the top four. It would be disastrous [to miss out].”
Arsenal’s dismal run of form means they have won just two of their last eight games in the Premier League.

The north London side could still win a trophy this season, however, with Arsenal set to take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals later this month.
