Gary Neville delivers blunt verdict on Man United this season

Gary Neville believes that Manchester United’s lack of a “killer instinct” this season is likely to prompt Jose Mourinho to spend big in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have been criticised for their failure to turn draws into wins this term, with Manchester United having drawn more games than any team in the top 10 this season.

Mourinho is already likely to be thinking about which players he would like to bring to Old Trafford in the Summer Transfer window as he prepares for his second season in charge at the club.

Former Manchester United defender Neville feels that the main issue for the Red Devils has been their failure to be ruthless in front of goal.

And the ex-England coach is expecting to see Mourinho address that problem in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Neville said: “They just haven’t got that killer instinct to kill teams off.

“It’s happened so many times. If you add those points that they’ve dropped into those matches onto the points tally they’d be in serious business.

“When you can easily identify what your weakness is and where it is you need to strengthen, then I suppose that’s a good thing in some ways. That’s how Jose, I’m sure, will be looking at it.”
