Arsene Wenger has revealed that Kieran Gibbs is an injury doubt for Arsenal’s Premier League clash with West Brom at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners are preparing to take on the Baggies as they look to get their bid for a top-four finish back on track.
Arsenal head into the game in fifth place in the Premier League table as Wenger bids to try and steer the Gunners back into the Champions League qualification spots.
Asked for the latest Arsenal team news, Wenger told his pre-match news conference on Thursday morning: “[Kieran] Gibbs is uncertain. Overall the squad is largely available. Apart from long-term injuries. Should be fine.”
Wenger was also asked about the fitness levels of Mohamed Elneny, and he continued: “It looked at the start a very bad ankle injury but he has recovered well. He’s a very strong boy.”
The Arsenal boss remained coy when quizzed about whether Alexis Sanchez will start Saturday’s game for Arsenal at The Emirates.
He added: “I haven’t picked the team yet but he has a chance yes.”
