Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Paul Pogba will miss Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Middlesbrough on Sunday as well as the forthcoming international fixtures with France after he picked up an injury during the 1-0 win over Rostov in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Pogba lasted just two minutes of the game before he had to be substituted with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
Mourinho confirmed after the game that the French midfielder had sustained a muscular problem and while he did not know the exact length of time he would be out, the Manchester United boss ruled Pogba out of the forthcoming games.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Friday, Mourinho said: “I don’t know how long [he will be out] for sure.
“But there will be no Middlesbrough and no national team [for Pogba].”
France play Luxembourg on 25 March before a friendly against Spain three days later, meaning Pogba will not play again this month, according to Mourinho.
The latest injury news will come as a blow to Manchester United, with Pogba having been a regular fixture in the starting line-up since his arrival at the club from Juventus last summer.
Manchester United are currently gearing up for their Premier League Clash against Middlesbrough at Old Trafford on Sunday as they bid to get their top-four challenge back on track.
The Red Devils finished fifth in the table last season and are currently in sixth place in the top flight.
