Antonio Conte will demand greater control of transfers at Chelsea this summer before signing a new contract with the club, according to reports in the British media.
The Times are reporting that the Italian manager wants to feel more in control of the Blues’ recruitment policy before committing himself to a fresh deal at Stamford Bridge.
The same report claims that of the four players Chelsea signed last summer, only N’Golo Kante was brought in at the specific request of the manager.
Conte has sparked a big turnaround in Chelsea’s fortunes this season following his appointment as the club’s new manager last summer.
He has watched his Blues side build a 10-point lead at the top of the table and establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season.
