Pundit urges Arsenal to replace Arsene Wenger with this strong manager

Matt Le Tissier believes Arsenal should appoint Ronald Koeman as Arsene Wenger’s successor.

The Gunners boss is facing an uncertain future at the north London club after a disappointing 2016-17 campaign in the Champions League and the Premier League.

Arsenal have lost 3-1 to Chelsea and Liverpool in their last two Premier League games on the road to leave the Gunners outside of the top four.

The north London outfit crashed out of the Champions League last week after a 10-2 loss to Bundesliga holders Bayern Munich in the last-16 clash.

Koeman took over the reins from Roberto Martinez at Everton last summer after an impressive spell at south coast club Southampton.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Wenger’s potential successor, former Saints legend Le Tissier offered Koeman as an ideal replacement for the Frenchman.

“A change of manager is the key. I agreed with the Arsenal boys, Charlie and Merse, in taking Ronald Koeman,” Le Tissier said.

“I think he wouldn’t suffer fools quite a gladly as Wenger and would surround himself with stronger characters.”
