Gary Cahill has described N’Golo Kante as humble and hard-working after the midfielder inspired Chelsea to a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Monday night.
The French midfielder was named as the man of the match as he produced another tireless performance for the Blues and scored the winner early in the second half with a low shot which beat David De Gea.
Kante has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season and has earned plenty of praise for the consistent displays he has produced for the Blues this term.
The Frenchman has established himself as a key cog in the Chelsea midfield and Cahill has talked up just how important Kante has become for Chelsea so far this season.
“He’s been fantastic,” Cahill told BBC Sport when asked about Kante.
“His performance level is right up there. You saw what he did last season and he’s come here and kicked on again.
“He’s such a humble guy off the pitch and works hard. He’s so important for us, he’s a tremendous addition and he’s won us the game with a goal today, which was great.”
