Harry Redknapp is tipping Liverpool to finish in sixth place in the Premier League title race.

The Reds lost ground on Premier League leaders Chelsea after a shock 3-2 loss to Swansea City at Anfield in Saturday’s early kick-off in the top flight.

However, sixth-placed Manchester United failed to beat Stoke City after Wayne Rooney scored a late equaliser to salvage a point, which leaves Jose Mourinho’s side four points behind their bitter rivals in third.

Manchester City were unable to hoist themselves above Liverpool and into the top four after Pep Guardiola’s side played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with second-placed Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Citizens are two points adrift of Liverpool in the top-four race, while Spurs are in second place and a point clear of Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Speaking to BT Sport after Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham, Redknapp explained his reasoning behind tipping Liverpool to finish in sixth place this season.

“I just think the other teams are stronger,” Redknapp said.

“I think Tottenham and Arsenal will finish above them.

“It’s between Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool who get the final top-four spot.”
