Summer Chelsea signing: What I really think about Antonio Conte’s tactics

Marcos Alonso has revealed that he has found it relatively easy to adapt to Chelsea’s new 3-4-3 formation this season following his transfer to the west London club in the summer.

The Blues have earned plenty of praise for their impressive performances under their new boss this term following the Italian’s appointment as the club’s manager last summer.

Conte opted to switch to a 3-4-3 formation earlier in the season when the Blues suffered back to back defeats at the hands of Arsenal and Liverpool.

The west London side have not looked back and currently lead the way at the top of the Premier League table.

And Alonso has lifted the lid on how he has adapted to the new formation at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking in an interview with Chelsea’s website before Sunday’s clash with Hull, Alonso said: “It’s not so different from how I was used to playing at Fiorentina, so it was easy to adapt when I first came here, but there are some different aspects that we have been working on with the manager.

“But I think it’s not too far from the football I played last year.”
