Ray Parlour is backing Diego Costa to make a swift return to goal-scoring ways on Sunday afternoon when Chelsea host Hull City.
The Spain international missed the west London side’s trip to Leicester City last weekend due to a back injury amid reports disagreement between Antonio Conte and Costa.
The 28-year-old centre-forward has scored 14 times in 19 games in the Premier League this season to help the Blues move seven points clear of their closest rivals in the title race ahead of this weekend’s action.
Costa scored in Chelsea’s 2-0 win against the Tigers at the KCOM Stadium in October which triggered the west London side’s incredible 13-game winning run before a 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.
Speaking to the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast, former Arsenal midfielder Parlour is confident that Chelsea will ease to a comfortable win against Hull.
“Chelsea will keep the pressure on. Costa will be back,” Parlour said.
Parlour added: “I wouldn’t put it past Costa to score the first goal and Chelsea go on to win comfortably.”
