Guillem Balague replies when asked if Philippe Coutinho will quit Liverpool for Barcelona

There is no real interest in signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona or Real Madrid, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

The Brazilian playmaker has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking players since his arrival the club from Inter Milan in January 2013.

Coutinho is widely regarded to be one of Liverpool’s most important players under Jurgen Klopp this season and the Brazilian is usually one of the first names on the Reds’ team sheet.

There have been suggestions that Coutinho could be tempted by a transfer to Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future.

But insider Balague has played down the chances of a move to Spain for Coutinho happening any time soon.

Asked if Barcelona are really interested in Coutinho, Balague told Sky Sports: “I don’t think so.

“There has been no real interest from Barcelona for the Liverpool forward.

“I know Rivaldo has spoken about it but it doesn’t make sense because they see him as a forward and the front three will be the front three next season.”
