Luke Shaw’s agent has hit out at reports linking the full-back with transfer out of Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The England international has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Manchester United side this season following the appointment of Jose Mourinho.

Shaw has only started six games in the Premier League so far this season after making his comeback from a serious knee injury last term.

The Independent reported that leaders Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been monitoring the full-back’s situation at Old Trafford.

However, Shaw’s agent Jonathan Barnett has emphatically quashed speculation linking the left-back with a move away from the 20-time English champions.

“I am angry with these reports suggesting Luke Shaw will leave Manchester United in the summer,” Barnett told IBTimes UK.

“I am angry at the irresponsible journalism.”

Shaw moved to Manchester United in a £27m deal from Southampton in the 2014 summer Transfer window under Mourinho’s predecessor Louis van Gaal.

The 21-year-old made 20 appearances in his first season at Old Trafford.

The left-back made the breakthrough at Southampton in the 2011-12 season in the Championship.
