Pundit: Why Man United will beat Liverpool on Sunday

Dietmar Hamann is tipping Manchester United to beat Liverpool in Sunday’s crunch Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils head into the game on a rich vein of form after having won their last six games in the top flight to close the gap to leaders Chelsea down to 10 points.

Manchester United are still in sixth place in the Premier League as they look to claw their way back into the title race and challenge the Blues for the top-flight trophy.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have been in fine form under new boss Jurgen Klopp this season and are currently second, five points behind leaders Chelsea heading into Sunday’s showdown.

The two sides played out a dull goalless draw when they last met in the Premier League at Anfield earlier in the season.

However, former Liverpool midfielder feels that the Red Devils will have the edge over Klopp’s men this time around.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hamann said: “I think Manchester United have found a bit of form in recent weeks and seem to be a lot more settled and the camp is a lot more happy than they were at the start of the season.

“And in [Sadio] Mane, one of the most influential forward players will be missing for Liverpool.

“So I think United, who nullified Liverpool very well the first time they played at Anfield, may have the edge on Sunday.”
