Spring means Alaska! There’s nothing like it on the planet. Where else can you pick a dot on a map in some of the most incredible terrain on earth and have somebody fly you there for relatively cheap? We flew into The Tordrillos with Silvertip Aviation. If you are looking for someone to fly with in Alaska we highly recommend them.
It hadn’t snowed in almost a week, but we found good snow on the north aspects. That meant really early mornings getting it done and then long sunny afternoons to feed and dry gear out. This was our camp for 11 days of glacial living.
Almost every morning we watched the sunrise on top of a different peak.
Carston Oliver getting his pink light pow.
Neil getting alpenglow awesome.
Some long approaches allowed Jay Beyer to get artsy
skin it to win it
Neil really stepped up his game this year! It was impressive to see him choose bold lines and ride them smart and cleanly.
Carston Oliver sending it
Carston likes to jump off anything he can find.
Seriously he really likes jumping.
Carston yet again jumping.
Neil Provo was on fire this trip both with his riding and in his belly.
Staged skinning shots from inside seracs is really popular right now.
- This was our second year to the Tordrillos and they didn’t disappoint. Great skiing, skinning, camping, scenery and not a bad place to take a dump either.
Thanks to Carston Oliver and Neil Provo for making our job easy and Jay Beyer for providing the lovely images.
