At the center of Betis’s complaint is the collision between Keylor Navas and Darko Brasanac at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, which should have seen the Real Madrid goalkeeper sent off.
Betis club president Angel Haro, according to COPE, has got in touch with the relevant footballing and officiating bodies to make a formal complaint against referee Mateu Lahoz for the numerous errors made against his team throughout the current season
Betis have counted up nine serious mistakes across their 26 LaLiga matches to date, which they believe has affected their points tally in quite a serious manner – to the point where the league table should make much better reading for Los Verdiblancos.
It is not the first time that the club have asked for answers from Spain’s refereeing body (CTA) and its president Victoriano Sanchez Arminio, or to RFEF chief Angel Maria Villar, which has been confirmed by Betis vice president Miguel Lopez Catalan on their official television channel.
“This has been coming over recent weeks or months, we have been talking with the Federation, speaking with Villar, our president has travelled to Madrid and is with both him and Sanchez Arminio,” Catalan explained.
“There are a lot of mistakes. Some have been in our favour, such as the goal that was given against Barcelona that we didn’t concede, but in general we feel hard done by. Therefore, we are asking to be heard and asking that there are not more things given against Betis, nor in favour,” he said.
