Inter Look To Book Profit By Selling Godin

Diego Godin has been linked with a move away from Inter this summer, a move that could reportedly save the Nerazzurri up to €20m as well as generate a profit for FFP.

Godin arrived to a lot of fanfare on a free transfer after his contract at Atletico Madrid, but he struggled to adapt to Antonio Conte’s back three system.

He earns around €5m a year plus bonuses at Inter and with a contract that doesn’t expire until 2022, selling him would save Inter around €20m on wages.

The Uruguay international still has a lot of fans and has reportedly attracted the interest of Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Since Inter signed Godin on a free transfer, any money they receive will be booked as a trading profit under FFP.

To replace Godin, Calciomercato.com claims that Inter have targeted Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla as his ideal replacement.
