Mercato: Icardi Returning To Inter

One of Inter’s big decisions this summer is what to do with former captain Mauro Icardi?

Inter had been hoping that PSG would take up the option to make his loan deal permanent, but that is not going to happen as Icardi has announced his intentions of a return to Italy.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Icardi’s contract with the French champions has been ended early after his wife and agent Wanda Nara, informed PSG’s sporting director Leonardo that he wants to return to Italy at the end of his loan deal.

As a result, PSG have tended their contact with Inter regarding a possible deal for the striker, who has contributed 20 goals in 31 games for them this campaign.

Inter value Icardi at €60m, a figure that probably only Juventus can afford after Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli said that the Argentine is ‘far beyond our financial reach’.

There is no way back to Inter for Icardi. Lukaku is firmly the top striker and Icardi does not fit Conte’s style of football.

It looks like we are about to spend another summer playing “where will Mauro go?” which is a game that has gotten old for many Inter fans.
