Captain for the evening in the Tim Cup, Andrea Ranocchia spoke with Inter TV after the Nerazzurri squeezed past a heroic Pordenone side on penalties, to seal their place in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.

“They were playing on the counterattack and it was important not to let them control the ball.

“These matches have hidden dangers and they showed in the end. Getting through to the next round was the important thing as we continue with our objectives.

“If you don’t break the deadlock, these matches become difficult. We always have to be ready when called upon. Now, we’re working on things that have gone well and on those that have gone less well.

“Now, the TIM Cup is put behind us and we’re thinking about the next league game.”
