Like all Inter fans, Gigi Simoni has been left totally unimpressed with Inter’s transfer strategy this summer, noting “Milan bought everyone and they are there feeling sorry for themselves.”
While the Rossoneri have been dining at the big boys table this summer by spending over €210m on 10 new players, Inter have been content to sign players who would have trouble legally buying a drink in Milan.
“Now let’s see if Suning manage to keep their promises, as so far they’ve done practically nothing,” the former Inter Coach Simoni told Sky Sport Italia.
“Their cousins at Milan have bought everyone and they are there feeling sorry for themselves.
“I, as an Inter fan, hope that the team can be brought back to the success of the past.”
All we heard heading into this transfer window was that Suning was prepared to spend upwards of €150m on new players in an attempt to close the gap on Juventus, Napoli and Roma.
But while Inter sit out the transfer window, their cross-town rivals have taken advantage of Inter’s inactivity to revamp their squad and make themselves favorite for one of those four champions league spots up for grabs in Serie A this season,
By comparison, Inter are currently looking like one of those sides who will compete for a Europa League spot.
