I think Walter Sabatini has taken Suning’s mantra to buy Young Italian player a little too far after splashing a potential €60m for two 16-year-olds.
According to Sky Italia, Inter have signed Genoa’s Pietro Pellegri and Eddy Anthony Salcedo.
Pellegri is a talented 16-year-old striker who has attracted the attention of both Juventus and AC Milan. But Inter have grabbed him by offering Genoa €30m for one of the most promising young Italian strikers.
The price breaks down as €15 million plus €15 million in potential add-ons and Pellegri will remain on loan at Genoa for the next two seasons to continue his development.
Pellegri scored his first Serie A goal against Roma in May, on the day of Totti’s farewell to football.
The Nerazzurri have also completed the signing of Pellegri’s teammate Eddy Anthony Salcedo who has yet to make his first appearance in Serie A and will turn 16 in October. Inter will sign Salcedo for €5 million plus another €25 million add-ons.
Bonuses and add-ons depend on how many appearances the two players will make in the next two seasons.
Both deals will be official on July 1, but to help with Inter’s Financial Fair Play issues, Genoa have agreed to sign either Puscas, Ranocchia, Biabiany or Maingue before the end of the month for €5-6 million.
What do you think of the deals?
