Stefano Pioli assures “all situations are in the past” with Antonio Candreva as “now there is only Inter”.
The pair were together at Lazio, and the midfielder admitted he was upset that he wasn’t given the Aquile captaincy, especially as “Pioli never gave me an explanation”.
Following Frank de Boer’s sacking, the Coach reunited with Candreva at Inter, but he insists there are no lingering tensions between them.
“There was no rupture, but he didn’t like the choice of Lazio captain [Lucas Biglia],” Pioli shrugged on Premium Sport.
“That’s well-known. Antonio is a great player and a great professional, he’s made himself available with great positivity.
“All the previous situations are in the past, now there’s only Inter.”
Marcelo Brozovic was an outcast under De Boer, but has been reintroduced since Pioli took over.
“When a new Coach arrives he has a clear head, without presuppositions, I had confidence in all the players.
“Brozovic is giving me a positive response. He has to continue like this, he’s young and has good qualities, but he can get even better.
