Changes In Boardroom As Zanetti Expected To Become President

According to newspaper reports, Suning are ready to begin to reshape Inter and as a result president Erick Thohir and CEO Michael Bolingbroke are expected to part ways with the club.

According to Sunday’s edition of “La Stampa”, former captain and Inter legend will replace Thohir within the next year, when the remaining shares of Thohir’s are bought by Suning next June. The rise from captain to president has been a remarkable one for Zanetti, considering he only stopped playing two years ago. But he has shown he has the ability to shine in the Boardroom as well as he shined on the pitch.

Also, as a part of the makeover of the Inter board, CEO Michael Bolingbroke’s contract will not be extended. Bolingbroke’s current deal expires in June 2017 and the only question left unanswered is when he will leave

Also expected to leave is Giovanni Gardini who is listed as on the Inter website as the Chief Football Administrator.

Finally, chief scout, Massimo Mirabelli is leaving also to become sporting director alongside Marco Fassone at AC Milan.

So some big holes for Suning to fill. It seems that over the last 3-4 years that there has not been a clear, consistent plan from the boardroom and we have lurches from one manager and one crisis to another. Hopefully Suning can fix that and bring some stability to the club.
