Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign the English sensation, Jude Bellingham. The deal, which is yet to be signed, is set to be one of the highest-value transfers in the history of both clubs, which is €103m up front, with a maximum of €31m to follow in bonuses.
Bellingham’s Journey to Madrid
Bellingham, a 19-year-old midfield, is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days. His journey to Madrid has been closely followed, which reported last weekend that Madrid’s pursuit of Bellingham was on track, with the La Liga side in negotiations with Dortmund.

Despite interest from other potential suitors, including Manchester City, Bellingham’s preference for Madrid was clear. City, while holding a concrete interest in the player, did not submit offers or provide financial numbers to Dortmund or Bellingham regarding a transfer fee or salary.
Bellingham’s Impact and Future Prospects
Bellingham has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after midfield players, with many of the continent’s biggest teams previously monitoring his situation at Dortmund. The Birmingham City academy graduate joined Dortmund in the summer of 2020 and quickly established himself as a key player for the Bundesliga side, often captaining them, and becoming a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England side.
He is set to join an array of young midfield talent that Madrid have amassed in recent years, including Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni. Veterans Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are also expected to sign contract extensions with Madrid.
Ancelotti’s Plans for Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti, Madrid’s head coach, has also expressed his desire to bring Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur striker and Bellingham’s England team-mate, to the club following Karim Benzema’s departure to Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia.
