Former Real Madrid striker Raul De Tomas has rejected the opportunity to return to Los Blancos this summer, according to Mario Cortegana.
The Spanish striker doesn't want to play as a backup to Karim Benzema because it will negatively affect his chances of playing for Spain at the World Cup in November.
Real Madrid will have to rely on Mariano and other inventive options (like Hazard or Rodrygo as a false 9) if they cannot get a new striker through the door this summer.
Right now, there's no more discussions between De Tomas and Real Madrid, if there ever was, Cortegana says.
On Monday it was confirmed that Borja Mayoral has left Real Madrid for Getafe.
