"I’ve now reached a pre-agreement in order to join Nacional [from Uruguay], it was Impossible for me to say no to this opportunity," Luis Suarez has told his followers on social media.
"I hope final details will be resolved soon in order to complete the deal officially," he added.
Luis Suarez was part of Nacional between 2001 and 2006, making 27 first-team appearances and scoring 10 goals.
The 35-year-old has been training at the Barca facilities for the past few weeks.
