Apparently, Jos could see things coming Max’s way at Jeddah. He believed that there were many chances that undoubtedly would have declared Max Verstappen the winner. But since he started from P15, the reality remained different from what he expected. As mentioned by Formule1.nl, Sr. Verstappen said, “Perez sees that [he doesn’t get chances that often]. And then goes for it.“
Speaking of Max Verstappen, his father believes that the driveshaft issue of the Red Bull car cost him to lose the second race of the season. During the qualifying session, Max’s car was hit by a reliability issue, and he failed to make a good position. But this does not prevent the two-time world champion from showing what he got. He still outstandingly finished the race just 5 seconds behind the winner. But what if there had been no driveshaft? Max would have won, not Sergio Perez. So the credit for Checo’s win goes to the issues of Verstappen’s car, according to Jos.
