Yankees’ Cap Aaron Judge Is Officially Back In Business, Hit First Homer In Spring Training! Check Out Fan Reaction

Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees captain, and slugger opened his home run account in a Spring Training game against the Pirates.

The 2023 MLB season spring training is in full swing, and the New York Yankees are completely dominating the league. They have won 7 out of the 11 games played so far. The young, as well as the experienced players, are stepping up nicely to contribute. Meanwhile, the Yankees’ newly minted-captain, Aaron Judge, is back to his usual business with staggering hits.

Aaron Judge is the most popular name in MLB right now. The 6-foot-7 guy is sitting on the most expensive contracts ever offered in the major league. The slugger signed a nine-year contract with the New York Yankees for $360 million after a month-long free-agency drama. A day later, the Yanks’ top brass appointed Judge as the captain of the team. Meanwhile, the slugger is turning heads at spring training.

New York Yankees superstar, Aaron Judge, wreaked havoc in MLB last season with ridiculous numbers. The 30-year-old hit .311, 133 runs, 131 RBIs, 16 stolen bases, 28 doubles, and 111 walks in the 2022 MLB season. Apart from these record numbers, the slugger scripted history by hitting 62 home runs, surpassing Roger Maris‘ 61 homers record, and became the only player to have as many homers in a single MLB season. The previous season earned him a lot of glory despite the Yankees missing out on the World Series title.

It is a new dawn this year, and Aaron Judge is starting from zero. The slugger has officially announced his arrival in the 2023 season with a stunning home run against the Pittsburgh Pirates in spring training. Judge took on Pirates relief pitcher Colin Selby, hit three-run innings, and scored a perfect homer. While the spring training ones do not count, the team can take solace in the fact that Judge has not lost his form. While expecting a replica of the 2022 season is a bit harsh on Judge. But the kind of caliber he carries, nothing can be ruled out.

While Aaron Judge’s home run came in the spring training may not seem like a big deal, but for the Yankees fan base, it’s a welcoming sight. The fans were excited and took to Twitter to express their emotion. They lauded and cheered for their captain and wished for the continuation of the slugger’s form. Moreover, a fan also pointed out Aaron’s change in approach, which he talked about using in certain situations earlier.

The New York Yankees emerged victorious with a 9-2 scoreline against the Pirates. Anthony Volpe, DJ LeMahieu, and many others contributed to the win. All the players slowly coming together to produce results is a positive sign for the Yankees, who move into the regular season three weeks from now. The team’s goal this season is to end the 13-year World Series title drought at any cost.
