2018 NFL Mock Draft

This reference page provides an overview of the 2018 NFL Draft and includes the full results. At Draft HD we are committed to providing maximum value to our readers. Lamar Jackson was the crown Jewel of this draft but there was a lot of other talent to be had and we provide an overview of all of it here.

The 2018 NFL Draft was the 83rd annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2018 NFL season. The draft was held on April 26–28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas; it was the first draft to take place in an NFL stadium and the first to be held in Texas. In order to be eligible to enter the draft, players must be at least three years removed from high school. The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft was January 15, 2018.

Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round — Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, and Lamar Jackson — the second highest number of first-round quarterback selections (tied with the 1999 and 2021 drafts) after the six selected in 1983. The draft was also the first to have siblings — safety Terrell Edmunds and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds — selected in its first round.

The 2018 NFL Draft was the first of two professional sports drafts to be held in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex during the calendar year, as the Dallas Stars hosted the 2018 NHL Entry Draft in June.

First-round quarterbacks included Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson who have made substantial impacts on their teams, each having broken franchise passing records and led their teams to the playoffs; Jackson won the NFL MVP Award in 2019.

First round guard Quenton Nelson, taken 6th overall by Indianapolis, is a three-time All-Pro and is currently considered one of the top guards in the league.

First round center Frank Ragnow, taken 20th by the Detroit, is a one-time Pro Bowler and a one-time All-Pro. He is a rising star.

Notable linebackers include Fred Warner, 2018 Defensive Rookie of the Year Darius Leonard, and Leighton Vander Esch

The 2018 rookie of the year was Saquon Barkley.

Second-round running back Nick Chubb (#24) running against first-round safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (#39). Both are two-time Pro Bowlers, while Fitzpatrick has been named an All-Pro twice.
