Total War Pre-Workout Ingredients

The formulation or pre-workout supplements usually contain ingredients that give you extra energy to work out. Does the Total War have all the components you need? What ingredients are present in the Total War pre-work supplement?

Check out a summary of the components in Total War:

Caffeine

Total War is excellent when it comes to the caffeine department. This product contains caffeine in two distinct versions. First, a scoop of Total War features 250mg of anhydrous caffeine to give you immediate sharpness and alertness. Caffeine anhydrous is obtained through a laboratory process that involves filtering out the excess water. This ensures that it provides a more standard dose with greater convenience.

Total War also contains a slower-acting cousin of coffee anhydrous known as di caffeine malate. It’s basically caffeine that has been chemically bound to malic acid. The iconic bond created after the reaction helps slow the release of caffeine into the body for a more enhanced and extended workout.

It is worth noting that 250mg of caffeine is equivalent to around 4 espressos.

Beta-Alanine

With documented research linking beta-alanine to improved endurance, concentration, and performance in exercise, it has become a must-have ingredient in most supplements. Beta-alanine helps increase the carnosine levels in the body, which act as a buffer against acid accumulation and reduce fatigue.

The 3.2mg of beta-alanine in Total War increases endurance and exercise capacity. It also features some antioxidants that help improve the body’s immune system.

However, it’s crucial to note that this component may lead to tingles, mainly when used in higher quantities.

Agmatine Sulfate

This component is a regular amino acid sourced from L-arginine. The latter helps pump your hormone levels by increasing nitric acid levels in the body. The presence of nitric acid in the body when working out allows body muscles to relax and blood vessels to dilate.

In effect, you get proper circulation, meaning that nutrients and oxygen will get to the muscles faster during strenuous training. Total War provides 1g of L-arginine per serving, allowing you to get all the benefits mentioned above.

Taurine

Some researchers often refer to taurine as a “Wonder Molecule” since this amino acid is usually incorporated in energy drinks. Evidence shows that consumption of taurine improves sports performance without any side effects.

Taurine is naturally manufactured inside the body, but supplementation can deliver immense benefits, including improved performance. The 1g of taurine supplied by Total War will regulate fluid-electrolyte balance in the tissues. It also promotes muscle development and healthy brain function.

Green Tea Extract

Another ingredient health experts advise people to consume regularly is green tea. The component boasts various antioxidants that help in weight loss, brain function, and protection against heart diseases. The 45mg of green tea extract in Total War provides antioxidant properties that help improve your mood and manage weight.

Juniper Extract

Although there’s no conclusive research on the benefits of juniper extract to human beings, the component is thought to have been used since ancient times for medicinal purposes. A study on rats discovered that supplementing their diet with juniper berry extract increases good cholesterol and lowers blood sugar.

Theobromine

This alkaloid is found in tea plant leaves, cacao beans, and kola nuts. Theobromine ensures that more oxygen flows in the lungs, helping muscle relaxation. Studies have also revealed that this substance can help lower blood pressure, reduce eating urges and facilitate gradual weight loss.

BioPerine

This is a patented extract of Piperine, a compound in black pepper. It’s an antioxidant that can help reduce inflammation, increase the absorption of nutrients, and protect the health of brain cells. While it’s uncommon in most supplements, you’ll get 10mg of BioPerine in each serving of Total war pre-workout.

Citrulline Malate

Muscle fatigue is the most common reason most people don’t complete reps or finish their workout. However, research indicates that citrulline malate can help solve this problem. The components combine L-Citrulline nonessential amino acid and malic acid to promote aerobic respiration to delay muscle fatigue.

Based on the British Journal of Sports Medicine, taking about 6g of citrulline malate before a workout can reduce fatigue because of the increased oxidative ATP production in the body. The citrulline malate is usually denoted with a ratio of 2:1. This means that in one serving of Total War, there is 4000mg of l-citrulline and 2000mg of malic acid.

Other Ingredients

There are other components featured in the Total War pre-workout supplement. They include naringin, disodium phosphate, natural and artificial flavors, sucralose, calcium silicate, silica, acesulfame-potassium, citric acid, and maltodextrin.

Dosage

Before consuming the recommended amount of this supplement, you should first test your tolerance by taking ½ a scoop 20 to 60 minutes before workout. If everything is okay, you should now wait for 24 hours and guzzle one serving of Total War. One scoop (14.7g) of Total War should be mixed with 250-500ml of ice-cold water.

Don’t take more than one scoop in a day since this product contains ingredients that might have some side effects. The 3.2g of beta-alanine will cause a tingling sensation in your body. Conversely, the product has 250mg of caffeine, meaning taking two scoops will keep you stimulated for hours, even after the workout.

Tastes and Flavors

Since the Total War pre-workout supplement was introduced into the market, the company has added 21 different flavors. These include:

Total War Pre-Workout Test Run and Performance

I tested Total War in both the gym and also for running. I’ve done a review and posted in on YouTube which you can watch below but read on if you want to learn more about how I felt.

So initially I took a half-scoop of Total War and then continued to do my stretching routine at home in preparation for the gym. Usually, when I go to the gym I’ll start with a run on the treadmill of at least 5K and then hit the weights afterward.

The first thing I noticed was the tingling that comes with beta-alanine. Some users aren’t a fan of this however to me it indicates that my pre-workout is kicking in and I’m ready for a massive pump workout session.

I started doing the run and the run was basically flawless and fluid, I had the energy, concentration and drive to keep going and I felt like I could put more out of my workout than normal. I normally don’t eat before my workout in the morning other than a banana, so the amount of energy it was giving me was really showing.

By the time I hit 5K on the treadmill I was buzzing and listening to my music from Armada. Honestly the entire experience kept me involved and interested in my workout and sometimes I would be tired by this point to go to the weights right away and I’d stop and refuel before doing so however I didn’t need to with Total War.

I went straight to do my pushing routine, so bench press, shoulder press and squats. By the end of the workout I had an entire pump around my body and I felt like it could help me lift more than normal and allowed me to trust my body more. The pump that comes from preworkouts is usually a result of the citrulline malate and there is quite a bit in Total War with 6g as one of its top ingredients at the back.

Afterward, the effects of Total War lingered which I didn’t mind as I work in IT and it helped me remain analytical for the day. By the time it reached night time I was ready to wind down and sleep. However I am very sensitive to caffeine so I know that this product can only work for me because I train in the morning. If you are the same, but you work out at 6 pm you might be in for a surprise once you hit the sheets, just something to keep in mind.

For me personally, I wouldn’t take it every single day that I’m working out just due to my preferring to take a natural route but once or twice a week when I do my hardest workouts I do like to take it for a ride.

Total War Pre-Workout Price and Where to Buy the Product

You can buy the product from their website or visit reputable online platforms, even Walmart is selling Total War these days.
