UEFA Champions League 2018-19 brings Ronaldo back to Old Trafford

UEFA, the governing body of football in Europe, has announced the group stage fixtures for the much awaited, high octane and all-new Uefa Champions League 2018-19 season.

The group stage draw of Europe’s most coveted men’s club competition for 2018-19 season have been made in Monaco, with highlights including Juventus vs Manchester United – meaning a return to Old Trafford for Cristiano Ronaldo as Premier League giants face their former superstar.

Portuguese star Ronaldo has dominated the competition in the recent history. The 33-year-old has won four titles for Real Madrid and one earlier during his times at Manchester United. After his move to Juventus this summer, Ronaldo will be aiming to end a 22-year dry spell for the Italian Serie A champions with his fourth individual consecutive European title and sixth overall.

The UEFA Champions League 2018-19 season will kick-off on September 18, 2018 and the finals are slated for June 1 next year at Estadio Metropolitano, Madrid.

Last season’s runner-up Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have perhaps, ended up in some of the toughest groups. Liverpool has ties against Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Napoli, and red Star Belgrade whereas the Spurs will be up against Inter Milan, Psv Eindhoven and LaLiga giants Barcelona.
