UEFA surprisingly overlook Gareth Bale’s overhead kick in the Champions League final

The UEFA Night was celebration of  Madrid, the Champions League winners and their players however the shocking absentee was Gareth Bale whose goal in Kiev was overlooked with another overhead kick by Cristiano Ronaldo named the best.

Luka Modric was named the best player and the top midfielder, Sergio Ramos was chosen as the best defender, Keylor Navas the best goalkeeper and Ronaldo, the best forward.

Whereas Gareth Bale hit a double in the Champions League final, he was not nominated for any awards. For the overall gongs in the course of the season this can be understood but certainly his first goal in the final deserved some reward.

Whether or not Ronaldo’s goal was better than Gareth Bale’s is subjective with each person looking at the skill involved but the best objective was between the two of them.
