Newcastle 3 – Everton 2
Everton blew it at Newcastle’s St James’ Park on Saturday.
Marco Silva’s side were cruising at the break after goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.
But Newcastle staged a remarkable second half turnaround to win the five-goal thriller.
Salomon Rondon started the fightback, while Ayoze Perez was the Newcastle hero with a late brace.

Much of the post-game analysis has centred on Everton goalie Jordan Pickford.

But Pickford managed to avoid a dismissal, and he subsequently saved Matt Ritchie’s spot-kick.
Of course, the game ended badly for Pickford as he conceded three times in the defeat.
As Everton’s stopper walked off the pitch, some Newcastle fans appeared to goad Pickford.

As they targeted the keeper, Pickford reacted.
In video which is being shared on social media, Pickford rocked his head from side to side in what many perceived as a ‘come, get some’ gesture towards the Newcastle fans.
