Chelsea transfer updates
Following their 2-0 defeat at Arsenal, many once again commented about the quality of Chelsea’s attack this season.
It took until the 82nd minute before Chelsea had a shot on target against Arsenal.
Maurizio Sarri deployed Eden Hazard in a false nine role at the Emirates Stadium, while Hazard extended his goal drought to eight matches.
Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud was introduced off the bench in the second half.
As for Alavro Morata, the Spaniard wasn’t even named in the Blues matchday squad.
Will Chelsea sign a striker in the January window?
Much of the talk has centred on Gonzalo Higuain, who is on loan from Juventus at AC Milan.
Alvaro Morata & Atletico Madrid
According to Spanish radio station Cope, Alvaro Morata has already signed an agreement to join Atletico Madrid.
Morata reportedly put pen to paper on that deal over the weekend.
The news of Morata’s Atletico move was revealed by Spanish journalist Antonio Ruiz, who also revealed that Barcelona made a late move for Morata.
The assumption is that Morata’s deal will be confirmed once Chelsea land a new attacker.
💥 Informa @RuizAntonito:

What’s with Gonzalo Higuain?
The general assumption in the British press is that Gonzalo Higuain will join Chelsea before the month ends.
Four defeats in nine Premier League games now for Chelsea. Higuain is going to have to hit the ground running and Sarri needs to come up with some fresh ideas. Big game on Thurs v Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.

Indeed, the Star have reported on Chelsea’s contract offer to the Argentine:
The Juventus hitman, 31, will join the Blues on loan until the end of the season in a deal worth £270,000-a-week.
And that £5.4million personal package will put Higuain near the top of the individual money charts in English football.
